Primary spindle cell sarcoma of the hard palate: A rare case report and literature review
Abstract
Sarcomas, constituting 1% of cancers, pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, particularly when rare, such as in the hard palate. We present a 30-year-old male with fusocellular sarcoma in the hard palate, a seldom-reported location. Histologically, the tumor exhibited high cell density, moderate atypia, and TLE1 positivity, suggesting a synovial origin. Molecular diagnostic limitations led to classification as undifferentiated sarcoma. Treatment involved surgical resection, reconstruction, and adjuvant radiotherapy. Despite the rarity, this case emphasizes the importance of accumulating clinical data for a comprehensive understanding and improved therapeutic strategies for infrequent malignancies, facilitating informed decision-making in medical practice.
