Self-retentive double-ended suction tip: A new and innovative concept in dentistry

Abstract

Aim: To create an innovative “double-ended and “self-retentive” suction tip that is specifically designed: To provide “dual action; which works under the rubber dam sheet as well above the rubber dam sheet at the same time. Also, to eliminate the need of holding the suction tip (being self-retentive) using a technical tip with which it can be fixed to the rubber dam frame. Methods: Three conventional suction tip with a few chair-side equipments are needed to create this innovative suction tip. It’s clinical applications is also very easy and can effortlessly be grasped. Results: The “double-ended and “self-retentive” suction tip works efficiently and provides desired level of moisture control. Conclusion: This new innovatively created suction device can be easily created chair-side and it can be a solution to provide moisture control “in and out” of the oral cavity.
