Evaluation of the Organizational Commitment of Public Officials in Mexico

The main purpose of the research is to evaluate the organizational commitment that trusted public officials have with a dependency of the Executive Power of the State of Tabasco, Mexico as well as to identify if there is a relationship between sociodemographic variables. The study has a descriptive transversal design, not experimental, quantitative, applying the measurement instrument adapted from the authors Meyer and Allen (1991), validated through expert judgment, the reliability of the instrument was verified with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.824. The results showed that the level of organizational commitment does not exceed 60 percent, with the affective dimension having the highest positive trend and the dimension of continuity the lowest. It was also determined that there is no relationship between the sociodemographic characteristics: gender, age and marital status, which were subject to analysis and the level of organizational commitment of public officials.
