The grinds area, developed along the banks of the Danube with odds 6 to 6.5 hydrodegrees and the main confluence (Jiu, Olt, Vedea, Arges, etc.). Well developed grinds have widths of 7 to 7.5 hydrodegrees and widths 150-300 m, with slight to medium textured soils more sandy and argillaceous Danube river onto the terrace. On the grind of the Danube river, earth texture is coarse. Intermediate are occupies most of the floodplain, with relative height of 5-6 hydrodegrees and medium textured soils, loam - sandy soils, loam - argillaceous soils. Depression area has relative levels in 3-4 hydrodegrees, represented by low land of floodplain below the terrace. The medium lithologic profile of the Danube floodplain presents at its surface a clay powder complex (semipermeable) 5-15 m thick below which appears an aquifer layer which consists of sands, gravels and boulders placed on the base layer which consists of marl, clay, limestone and sandstone.
