La imagen-pantalla: materialidad, artefacto, gesto técnico
Abstract
The article explores the convergence between image and screen within contemporary visual culture. Image itself and technical support are identified through the image-screen. This identification can be taken as the last step of a process of invisibilization of the forms of mediation of images, by naturalizing and detracting them from critical analysis, within a certain ideology of dematerialization. The article pays attention to material dimensions of image-screen in order to develop new possibilities for the critique of representation, not just focused on the discursive. Based on the recognition of the materiality of signs and codes the article aims to understand the image-screen as artefact, a knot of active matter and meaning, as well as the opportunity to re-politicize technical gestures.
