Abstract

This article brings theoretical reflections on the social impact evaluation. It emphasizes the approaches of Silva (2008), Lima (2008, 2009), Aguilar and Ander-Eqq (1994), arnonq olhers, aboul differenl conceplions 01 evalualion as a movement in the process of public poíicies . It presents varíous types and models of evaluation, focusing the discussion on lhe social impacl evaluation. Addresses lhe social impacl as an elhical and philosophical lunclion, linked lo a particular conceplion 01 lhe world which rescue lhe values 01 human beings, lheir developmenl, lheir crealivily in lhe conlext 01 a learning process, guided and directed to better acquaintanceship ways. Concludes that the social impact assessment should be underslood primarily as an attitude loward lile and lhings and as a 100110 build lhe future .
