Abstract

This article analyzes the tale "Ganhar o Jogo" by Rubem Fonseca and "Joãozinho da Babilônia" by João Antônio, intending to understand how these two exponents of contemporary Brazilian prose appropriate themes such as: poverty in large cities, social invisibility, alterity and multiple forms of cruelty.
