Highlights 1. RNA sequencing showed that OBP28 gene expression was higher in the deltamethrin-resistant strains. 2. The qPCR results verified that OBP28 gene expression was higher in the resistant strains. 3. RNA interference silenced the OBP28 gene at an efficiency of more than 50%. 4. The sensitivity of Cx. quinquefasciatus to deltamethrin increased after OBP28 had been silenced.
