The aim of this essay is to highlighting the issue of being(ness)and of modality in Plato’s philosophy under the Socratic influence for the ontological design in its metaphysical significance. I follow some cardinal concepts, like: eidos and idéa within the development of the doctrine of ideas, trying to stress the importance of a holistic reading in the dynamic unity of Plato’s Dialogues, to enlightening the central category of being(ness).
