Польские вкрапления в русских мемуарах конца XIX века в свете истории русского литературного языка и лингвистики текста

Abstract

Based on the material of the Russian memoirs of the late 19th century, dedicated to the events of the uprising of 1863, the article describes lexical and grammatical inclusions from the Polish language, marked by the authors as nominative units not mastered in Russian speech. A semantic classification of Polish inclusions is carried out and the prevalence of persons’ names by occupation and social status among them is revealed. The ways of marking foreign language elements in the author’s speech are shown (translation, commenting, graphic highlighting). The functions of marking for- eign language inclusions are determined: ensuring adequate understanding of the text by the reader, highlighting the most important ideologically nominations, expressing the author’s irony. The influence of the Russian scientific style on the style of memoirs is stated. It is shown that the marking of Polish inclusions expresses the categories of assessment, informativeness, reliability and coherence of the text.
