Deposits study on the stage of exploitation (on example of Eristov ferruginous quartzites deposit)
Abstract
Experience in various kinds of mineral resources industrial exploitation shows that the majority of them in the extraction process is carried out further study – usually within operational prospecting. In particular this applies to objects with complicated geological structure, which have undisciplined conditions of mineral deposits stratification, variability in mineralization parameters, irregular ore quality indicators. Objectives and methods of operational prospecting depend on the specific object and the type of mineral. On the iron-ore deposits of Ukraine operational prospecting carried out on all objects, regardless of which mining method is used. Operational prospecting solves such basic tasks: refinement of previous exploration data and control of the minerals extraction process. By clarifying the survey data can reveal new data about the geological structure of the deposit, conditions of ore deposits stratification and raw material quality, change mineral reserves, which may require adjustment of the deposit mining project. The second task is ensuring the completeness recess and complex use of mineral resources. Geological Surveys of mining companies, in addition, must take care of growth reserves, strengthening the resource base and extension of facility time activities. As an example of operational prospecting considered Eristov ferruginous quartzites deposit, which is open pit mining. The main technical prospecting tool on this object is boreholes in which performing well logging research complex, testing, photographic documentation. Material samples were subjected to analytical and technological research. In the area of open pit held regular monitoring of hydrogeological conditions. The results of operational prospecting will be used to refine the quantity and quality of ferruginous quartzite, clarify the contours of ore deposits and prepared blocks, improve the efficiency of mining operations and complete extraction of minerals, mining engineering and preparatory work, annual and operational planning of the company.
