Nové odrůdy meruněk ‘Telma’ a ‘Odeta’

In RBIP Holovousy originated new apricot cultivars ‘Telma’ and ‘Odeta’ during breeding program, both are registered for growing in the Czech Republic since 2021. Trees of both cultivars have spreading habitus and grow vigorously. Flowering time of ‘Telma’ cultivar is rather early in second week of April, fruit ripening time is medium late in third week of July and cultivar is typical with its high fruit set. Fruits have big size with average fruit length around 44 mm, fruit width 41 mm and fruit thickness 40 mm, Fruit weight is around 42 g. Fruits have high inner quality, and very good teste. Fruits of this cultivar are of higher tolerance to apricot scab (Stigmina carpophila). Cultivar ‘Odeta’ has medium late flowering time in second week of April and late ripening time in last week of July. Trees has medium fruit set volume. Fruits are of medium size with average fruit length around 43 mm, fruit width 39 mm and fruit thickness 36 mm. Fruit weight is around 37 g. Fruits have high inner quality and very good taste. Both cultivars are self-compatible and have low Monilia laxa susceptibility, low susceptibility for fruit cracking and skin burn. Both cultivars have good storability in cold storage. The origin of both cultivars was verified using a genotyping set of 19 SSR markers.
