Parieto-Occipital Shunt Migration in a Patient with Congenital Hydrocephalus and Dandy-Walker syndrome: Case report
Abstract
Total shunt migration is one of the rare complications of shunt failure. Herein we report a 6-month-old girl, a known case of congenital hydrocephalus, dandy-walker syndrome, and multiple shunt revisions. She presented with ventriculoperitoneal shunt failure due to upward migration and coiling of the distal catheter from the abdominal cavity to the subgaleal parieto-occipital space. Shunt survey x-ray findings computed tomography scan results, and possible mechanisms of action are described .
