NATURAL CORAL AS BONE GRAFT IN EXPERIMENTAL DOGS - HISTOPATHOLOGICAL STUDIES
Abstract
Natural coral was used to correct bone defect in nine dogs in which fracture and bone defect was created experimentally. Histopathological examinations on 4th, 10th and 16th post-operative week confirmed biocompatability and acceptance of the graft, indicating that natural coral could be successfully employed as bone graft in orthopedic surgery, in dogs.
