A new method of plastic surgery for injuries to the extensor tendons of the fingers in the area of their attachment to the nail phalanx

Abstract

A new method of plastic surgery of the extensor tendons of the fingers with their chronic or degenerative damage in the area of attachment to the nail phalanx has been developed. The method was applied in 32 patients. Long-term results were evaluated using objective criteria for assessing the deficit of extension of the distal phalanx of the fingers according to G.P. Crawford, subjective data were obtained using the DASH questionnaire. Excellent results were obtained in 92.3 % of cases.
