Edouard Glissant’s Romantic Fiction: A Subversive Rhetorical Strategy, an Anti-Poetic and a Composite Aesthetic Edouard Glissant denounces all forms of standardization, which model cultures to which he proposes an erratic and eccentric thought. It is specifically in that context that our article reexamined the question of Glissant’s subversive rhetorical strategy by relating it to the judicial impetus. In fact, it’s a question of a counter-rhetoric that underpinned not only anti-poetic, but also composite aesthetic. This is how the West Indian novelist-orator tries to annul cultural typicality and cultivate the intermixing between different human imaginations.
