Psychological evaluation of applicants accepted into Pediatrics Residency Program at Instituto Nacional de Pediatría

Abstract

In order to select the best candidates for pediatric residency program, it is important to consider not only academic skills but also the features of cognitive and personality profile to reassure an optimal performance. The aim of this study was to describe the psychological profile of physicians accepted for Pediatric Residency Program at Instituto Nacional de Pediatría. With a descriptive, transversal, retrospective design, data were obtained from 44 files of accepted physicians, where cognitive reaccioand personality assessment was obtained from 2 psychometric scales: DAT-5 and MMPI-2.
