Abstract

Dental photography not only emerged as a valuable tool in modern dentistry, revolutionizing the way dental conditions are diagnosed and helping to formulate the treatment plan and educate the patient. By capturing high-quality images of the oral cavity, dental professionals can document and analyze dental conditions with precision. This enables them to provide evidence-based treatment recommendations and monitor the progress of dental procedures. Furthermore, dental photography serves as a communication tool between clinicians, dental laboratories, and patients. Digital dental photography is not just a tool, but an indispensable asset in modern dentistry. This review article is of 3-part series. The first part of the review article will elaborate on the applications of photography in digital dentistry.
