A stone and a horizon: Siciliana by Murilo Mendes regarded through Zbigniew Herbert’s works
Abstract
This article proposes visiting Sicily in the footsteps of Zbigniew Herbert and Murilo Mendes through a comparative approach to the classicism of the two authors. The first part points out the Sicilian motifs in Herbert’s essays and correspondence. The second part reflects upon Mendes’ Siciliana (particularly the poem “Elegia de Taormina”). --- DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.25094/rtp.2019n27a611
