Aim. To study the nature of relationship between emotional intelligence and overcoming behavior of medical professionals. Methodology. The EmIn questionnaire by D.V. Lucin was used in the research to measure the emotional intelligence (EI), as well as the “Methods of Coping Behaviour” questionnaire, the CISS test for stress coping-behaviour diagnostics and the viability test by S. Maddy. Results. The research results showed that doctors with rather high emotional general intelligence have more distinctly marked coping-strategies of self-control and accepting responsibility. Thus, they will have higher level of viability. And doctors with rather low emotional general intelligence have distinctly marked coping-strategies of distancing, search of social support and escapism. Their viability level is low. Research implications. The research results can be used as the basis for developing recommendations on making medical workers’ coping-strategies more optimal.
