Applicability of the Solar Radiation Products from FY-4A in Plateau Mountainous Areas of Guizhou

Based on data from seven observation stations of solar radiation in plateau mountainous areas of Guizhou province, this study investigated the quality of FY-4A ground solar radiation products(hereinafter referred to as FY-4A-GRSP )and further corrected total radiation.The results demonstrated that both FY-4A-GRSP and ground observation total radiation showed the characteristics of high at noon while low in morning and night , and high in spring and summer while low inautumn and winter with the significant correlation.However, the total radiation from FY-4A-GRSP was generally high, and the relative errors decreased with the increase of ground observation total radiation. The error in the morning and enening is large, but in the noon is small. The higher the total radiation, the lower the relative errors, concluded from the comparison analysis, with little effect on the correlation.The relative errors of the hourly and daily total radiation were reduced using the linear regression model correction, but the results were overcorrected, how to choose the appropriate correction model to improve the accuracy of FY-4A-GSRP would be the focus of the research in the future.
