Abstract
To teach and to learn are inseparable terms, the student’s growth reflects the work developed, that is to say, to evaluate his/her pupils, the teacher will also be evaluating his/her own work. We understand as supervisor the teacher who tutors the pratices in our institution. In our particular situation, supervisors are the male nurses specially wired to develop teaching jobs, or those who, during the pratices sessions, accumulate two functions: tutorial and assistencial. To evaluate the quality of their teaching, as well as to identify the main existing correlation in this practice, constitutes the objective of this work developed by the Faculdade de Enfermagem Nossa Senhora das Graças in Recife-PE. The authors used questionnaires of similar contents address to both categories of supervisors and supervised students. The analysis of the data has shown that: a) the tutorial supervisor has more available time for the pupils; b) The tutorial-assistencial supervisor makes use of the methodology or assistence and c) both are considered facilitators of the pratices the pupils consider the toturial assistencial supervisor for better quality teaching. The obtained results reveal a need of the institution to provide the tutorial supervisors with higher quality tranning and discloses a new supervisor that breaks the link between theory and practice.
