Highlights Survival rates remain very low in patients with osteosarcoma (OS). Identification of new diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets is essential. miR-23b-5p was transfected into OS cells to study the biological effects. miR-23b-5p promoted cell proliferation and metastasis in OS by targeting TMEM127. miR-23b-5p may provide diagnostic value in the treatment of OS.
