Post-traumatic stress disorder as the most typical response to a traumatic event: clinical observation and literature review

Abstract

The article presents a clinical observation of a patient with post-traumatic stress disorder, which manifested itself after a traumatic situation in the family. A brief overview of the conceptual evolution of post-traumatic stress disorder is given, the clinical picture and modern approaches to diagnosing the disorder under discussion are described. Evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy and psychopharmacotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder are presented.
