In this paper was study different methods and techniques of gridding that have been implemented in the modelation of fluid flow in porous media, such as cartesian, cilindrical, curvilinear, hybrid, PEBI (Perpendicular Bisection) or Voronoi grids; techniques of global and local refinement and corner point geometry (CPG), which could define the numerical simulation precision. It was established a comparison to generate a series of judgement that they allow to determine under what condition, some types of gridding can be more favorable. It was validated the theoretical information with an experimental exercise on a synthetic model using two commercial simulators.
