To carry out an efficient data aggregation operation, it is essential to retain the optimal number of nodes for an extensive sensing period in wireless sensor networks. Hybrid Medium Access Control (MAC) uses its contention and scheduling options to offer this feature by facilitating access over the shared resources and offering better energy efficiency. However, a review of existing approaches highlights that there is still a large scope for improvement. Therefore, the proposed system introduces a model forhybrid MAC that facilitates optimal routine management of states of nodes and offers a dual optimization model by ensuring extensive participation of intermediate nodes. The proposed scheme Simulated in MATLAB, the study outcome shows that it offers a good balance between energy efficiency and communication performance in comparison to existing hybrid MAC schemes.
