Quantifying neurotransmitter secretion at single-vesicle resolution using high-density complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor electrode array
Abstract
High-throughput monitoring of neurotransmitter release at single-vesicle resolution remains a challenge. Here, the authors present a silicon-based electrode array with 1024 on-chip electrodes that measures neurochemical signal in 0.1 millisecond intervals to capture the modulation of exocytosis due to Parkinson’s disease treatment within 30 total minutes of recording.
