This study aims determinants of households’s income in rural areas of Tra On district, Vinh Long province. Data were collected from direct interviews with 182 households in rural areas Tra district, descriptive statistics and multivariate linear regression. Research results show that although people's living standard in rural areas is increasingly improved, many households still get low income. The main income source of most households is from agriculture, so it is relatively low and unstable. Many families need to acquire necessary skills to raise income or change jobs. In addition, the study also identified factors that affect the average income per capita of households in rural areas which include demography, working experience of household's head, age of labor in households, education level of household's head and income-generating activities.
