Rating of the indicator of effective public space and perception of the community in relation to the social dynamics of the urban area of the municipality of Ocaña (Norte de Santander)
Abstract
In recent years the quality of urban life of the inhabitants of the municipality of Ocaña has been affected, due to the accelerated growth of the population and changes in social dynamics, triggered by triggers such as forced displacement, increased unemployment rate, influence of intercultural diversity and increase of the informal economy. Consequently, the municipality presents an urban disorder, making the issue of public space become relevant today. In this sense, it was found that the effective public space index for the municipality is 0.75 m2, which represents a very high deficit in terms of squares, parks and squares present in each of the communes of the urban area. However, there is a fairly important green area in the municipality, but most of which are private land that limits people's access to the enjoyment and enjoyment of these spaces. It is clear that the community has a negative perception regarding the management and disposition of public spaces, and it becomes easily identifiable that the urban area of the municipality has grown, but not the number of public spaces.
