After the neonatal period, congenital diaphragmatic hernia manifests itself as a wide range of clinical symptoms resulting in diagnostic delay and even a misdiagnosis. Medical interventions due to misdiagnosis cause iatrogenic injury that worsens a disease. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia should always be considered in the differential diagnosis in patients with recurrent non-specific respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms. The paper presents a case report and the main symptoms of the clinical course of late-presenting congenital diaphragmatic hernia in a 6-year-old child and modern methods in diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Despite abundant literature, clinical manifestations of this disease cause great difficulties in its timely recognition and treatment. The research was carried out in accordance with the principles of the Helsinki Declaration. The study protocol was approved by the Local Ethics Committee of all participating institution. The informed consent of the patient was obtained for conducting the studies.
