THE STUDY OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF RENAM – GEANT SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL ELECTRONIC PLATFORM

Abstract

The article describes approaches, solutions and perspectives for the development of modern electronic resources for the research and education community in Moldova, based on the use of advantages of the integrated platform RENAM – GEANT. The results of the study argue the prospects of developing the specific services and optical communication gateways for connecting the national research and educational network RENAM and similar networks of the neighboring countries Romania and Ukraine. Described solutions for providing access to the resources of Pan-European academic network GEANT for RENAM community that is developing within EaPConnect project in which RENAM takes part. The main vector of activities is focused on ensuring support of national research teams, enhancing the competitiveness and high quality of national scientific and educational products, benefiting from extending international cooperation, attracting European potential and scientific expertise for facilitating of the internal problems solving.
