In defense of a Financial Geography

Abstract

The present work is dedicated to propose the existence of a Financial Geography, justifying this assertion through the characterization of what has been discussed in the geographic scope on the subject of finance. Thus, based on bibliographic research, we present some of the approaches adopted by the Brazilian geographers when dedicating themselves to this theme and, in sequence, we detail some of the main works dedicated to the theme. As a result, we verified that the financial aspect has great relevance on the organization of the geographic space.
