Abstract

Every day in Poland approx. 1,400 new companies appear, of which 90% are registered as business activities of private people. Statistical Polish entrepreneur is a trader, less a ser-vice provider. Companies are established by professionals, unemployed and opening activities under the pressure of employers. Only 30% of the new companies, survive 5 years. The lecture describes the basic mistakes made by the owners of micro-enterprises, which most often lead to their breakdown. The author tries to indicate what steps an entrepreneur must take to survive in today's market.
