Abstract

Тhe topicality of the topic is determined by the rapid pace of the need to process information and provide users with information in the format of databases. The purpose of the article is to emphasize the relevance of the existence of databases in V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. Overview and characteristics of the library’ databases are presented. The research methodology is based on systemic and structural approaches, methods of comparative, logical, structural and functional analysis, including an interdisciplinary approach. Scientific novelty. The relevance of the formation of databases during the war was determined. The management principles, state and characteristics of the databases of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine for thirty years are pointed. The importance of the accumulation and preservation of information in electronic form under conditions of armed aggression of the Russian Federa tion has been proven. The conclusions emphasize that the latest geopolitical challenges for Ukraine have increased the urgency of developing a national scientific knowledge support system. During the war, citizens’ need for communications increases, people’s life decisions often depend on receiving complete, timely and true official information.
