Results of a short-term application of hydroactive dressings in the combination treatment of shin trophic ulcer in a patient with post-thrombotic disease
Abstract
Venous trophic ulcers are the result of serious circulatory disorders against a background of varicose or post-thrombotic disease of the lower extremeties. According to various authors, they complicate the course of chronic venous insufficiency in 15-18% of cases and account for about 70% in the overall structure of different types of lower-extremity ulcers. Venous trophic ulcers are found in 1-2 % of the adult working-age population and in 4-5% of the elderly. The long-term, recurrent disease degrades the quality of life of patients.
