Revolutionising Glaucoma Care with Optical Coherence Tomography: A New Horizon
Abstract
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has become a commonly utilised imaging modality in the detection and monitoring of structural glaucomatous damage. OCT has undergone several evolutionary phases, advancing from time-domain OCT, through spectral-domain OCT, to swept-source OCT. Each iteration has notably enhanced the resolution and speed of imaging scans, making the technology progressively more efficient and precise. This article provides an overview of the current commercial OCT technologies and analytic techniques as well as recent advancements like OCT angiography and lamina cribrosa imaging for the management of glaucoma.
