In several studies associated with the history of educational renewers and renovations, Lourenço Filho and Anísio Teixeira have been placed side by side for the purpose of comparing their ways of thinking and taking action onto the brazilian educational field. In this paper, both are present by virtue of a circumstance in which they happened to be face to face to each other (1935); that was a special condition to explore the singularity of the intellectuals involved; the choice was on Lourenço Filho and education itinerary within intellectual and political networks in the state of São Paulo. The conceptual corpus through which the analyses were conducted as well as the way of handling the selected sources are shown throughout the exposition.
