The cultural heritage shapes the identity of people, is capable of triggering progress in the communities from a holistic perspective. The purpose of this paper is to show the in fluence of gender in the conservation and utilization of cultural heritage and emphasize the importance of integrating social participation of women and men equally to strengthen social cohesion and detonate development processes. Three approaches are the theoretical methodological approach: gender mainstreaming, regional development and ethnography through documentary information, interviews and participatory workshops. We conclude that cultural heritage is key to the progress of the community, since it is considered as a development strategy.
