Currently, the role of the private sector in international cooperation has often been discussed in the main forums. This article aims to contribute to this debate offering a gathering of the Brazilian companies operations in the global South and its possible engagement in international cooperation projects. This study focused on the sample delimited, firstly, by the Ranking FDC das Multinacionais Brasileiras 2017, and secondly, by the state publicly traded companies, at federal level. Aspects such as profiles and models of engagement; the engagement motivations; the accession to international agreements; and evaluation mechanisms were highlighted.
