Abstract

The article is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of a prominent organizer of healthcare, statesman, surgeon, scientist, Member-Correspondent of the National Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Honored leader of sciences of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine, the Academician Bohomolets Prize of the National Academy of Sciences, Head of the Surgery Unit of Bohomolets O.O. National Medical University, PhD in Medicine, Professor Bratus V.D. The rich professional and academic life of the person who played an important role in development of surgery, science, higher medical education and improvement of organizational principles of practical medicine of Ukraine is described.
