This work aims to present a project model with the short story “The Story of The Good Little Boy” (1875), by Mark Twain, following the Expanded Sequence proposal by Rildo Cosson (2006), with activities for language teachers who also wishto work literature in their classes and seek possible alternatives. In this paper, we reflect on the importance of literature in the classroom, as well as the teacher's role in fostering the formation of young critical readers, and describe the activities proposed in the project model. It also reflects on the results observed during and after its realization. Finally, this research was developed to reinforce the importance of working with literature in language classes, acknowledging the fundamental role of literature in student's live.
