Un art de résister ? Marges de manœuvre et mémoires à Douala

Abstract

This article focuses on the place of contemporary artists in the government of the city of Douala through the study of the re-appropriation of spaces outside the walls and including a place, the Café artistique. He analyses their strategies on how to access urban spaces, and public discourse regarding social and political roles in the authoritarian context of the Cameroonian regim.
