« On apportait de la boue et on rentrait avec des dollars ! » : la construction d’un circuit migratoire entre São Paulo et Cusco
Abstract
This article explores the development of a migrant circuit between the region of Cusco and the city of São Paulo, starting from the configuration of a transnational network of production and commercialization of Peruvian handcraft. Based on the analysis of the mobility dynamics of these artisans turned into transnational merchants, and then into migrants, we will present the links that emerged between two poles of such circuit. Drawing on the analysis of the Peruvian migrants’ paths from the region of Cuzco, and ethnographic fieldwork inspired by the global ethnography, this paper aims to understand the transformations experienced by this migration and how took place the transition from a dynamic of circulation to a settlement.
