La Universidad y los medios masivos de comunicación. Televisión Universitaria en Uruguay (1967-1973)

Abstract

In Uruguay, the University of the Republic (UDELAR) had a fixed program on monday nights on Channel 5 of the Official Radio Electric Broadcasting Service (SODRE) between 1967 and 1973. The program was structured in monthly thematic cycles carried out by university professors experts in the area of knowledge. This format gave flexibility to the television space and allowed it to be used for various purposes, channeling different broadcasting needs. This article aims to research on the contents of the programs and the discussions and projects within the University, to know the uses that were made of the university space program on Channel 5.
