Abstract
In today's era, environmental ideas occupy very important place in world literary trends. Apart from literature, ecological studies are increasingly carried out in various fields such as sociology, anthropology, physics, and economics. Among them, in the field of economics, environmental economics plays a very important role. For more than two hundred years, economic ecology has been studied in Western countries. Many ecological economists have documented the connections between nature and the economy through their theories. Notable among them are Karl Marx, Schumacher, and Lester Brown. All their ecological economic ideas have spawned a variety of studies. Due to scientific discoveries and the mechanical revolution, human life began to diverge from nature all over the world. As a result, the world is threatened by the doubt that in the future this planet will be suitable for human habitation. Various departments are also trying to create awareness among people about the environment. Some of the contemporary Tamil Literature is doing the same. The novel 'Kadavulin Naarkali' written by 'Athiyaman Karthik' is one such literary work. The supreme seat of dominion in this world is the seat of God. “Kadavulin Naarkali'' novel highlights how the activities of private multinationals that aim to achieve this have upset the ecological balance. Natural resources are the source of all material production. It is beneficial for all living beings to use it in equal distribution systems. This concept is expressed by the ecological economist named 'Schumacher' in his book 'Small is Beautiful'. Based on the theories of such Western world experts, this article examines the novel “Kadavulin Naarkali” from an economic ecological perspective.
