The results of the assessment of prospects for increasing the potential and capacity of water intakes in the city of Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad region, are presented in article. The research was conducted in order to solve the problems of uninterrupted supply of drinking water to the population in the event of a reduction in the capacity of the Dnipro-Kirovohrad waterworks or a temporary suspension of its distribution water networks in the region as a result of russian aggression. The geological, structural and hydrogeological features of the territory of the Kirovohrad region are presented, and the characteristics of aquifers, their depth and the lithology of water-bearing rocks are given. The task and justification of setting up a complex of geophysical exploration methods, and the method of performing works are presented. The selected complex of geophysical methods and methods of interpretation of field materials allows us to identify with sufficient certainty the places of distribution of fractured groundwater. According to the analysis of available geological, geophysical and hydrogeological data near the city of Kropyvnytskyi, six promising areas are recommended for the search and exploration of underground water for drinking water supply. The results of geophysical studies conducted for the Suslovo area of the Kirovohrad region to determine the position of the optimal drilling points for additional exploratory and exploratory hydrogeological wells within the existing water intake are presented. The priority tasks for increasing the capacity of water intakes in the city of Kropyvnytskyi are substantiated. Geological, geophysical, and hydrogeological studies, as well as the study of hydrogeological conditions and sanitary protection zones for the further design of water intake structures from local water supply sources, have been substantiated for the selected prospective prospecting areas of the Kropyvnytskyi district for the search for groundwater.
