Literature is a mirror of time that captures the lives of people. From the Sangam period to the present, the experiences of human beings became the subject of poetry and other types of literary genres. Sangam literature gives us a sense of the ancient Tamil civilization and culture of the Tamil people. Although they are very short songs, they stand high due to the theme and beautiful depiction of the subject, the historical messages and the emotions that explain it, and the textual excellence. Therefore, it is possible to examine the Sangam literature from the initial analytical approach with all the modern literary theories of today. Research is done comparing Sangam literature with various fields. At that level, the Sangam Literature describes Tamil literature as one that accommodates all kinds of western approaches. In that way, this article is based on the natural background and Freud's psychological theory in one of the associational literatures.The purpose of this article is to explore the natural resources in the poems of “Kurunthogai” using Freud’s psychological ideas that enthral as paintings in our hearts and mix them with the lives lived at the Sangam time.
