Psychometric evaluation of the Arabic standardized user experience percentile rank questionnaire (Arabic SUPR-Q)
Abstract
The Standardized User Experience Percentile Rank Questionnaire (SUPR-Q) is a user experience (UX) measure that is highly appropriate for assessing different transactional websites and mobile applications which have transactional capabilities, such as shopping and e-commerce services. SUPR-Q can also be applicable to websites and applications that have informational purposes such as news sites or Wiki platforms. The aim of this work was to adapt SUPR-Q cross-culturally to the Arabic language and to investigate the reliability and validity of the Arabic version of the SUPR-Q for Arabic-speaking users. The SUPR-Q was translated into Arabic and then back translated into English according to established guidelines. The Arabic adaption of SUPR-Q was evaluated by 147 respondents who were all users of SHEIN e-commerce shopping website. Psychometric evaluation of the translated scale was performed to assess its structure, validity, and reliability. The reliability coefficients of the four subscales ranged from 0.858 to 0.875, indicating high internal consistency. The Partial Least Squares based Confirmatory Factor Analysis (PLS-CFA) provided confirmatory evidence for the construct structure, validity, and the model fit, yielding conclusive results. Therefore, the Arabic version of the SUPR-Q was found to be a valid and reliable tool that can be used to assess user experiences among an Arabic-speaking population.
