BETWEEN EUPHORIA AND DESALINATION: THE GREATEST CONTRIBUTIONS OF BINET AND ITS IMPACT ON THE PSYCHOPEDAGOGICAL DIAGNOSIS OF THE 20TH CENTURY
Abstract
The autor criticizes the frequent but disappointing references to Alfred Binet that can be found in our culture. He deeply analyzes as well in three levels, the significant influence Alfred Binet, has had into the modern Diferential Psicology, Education and Psycometric: -Binet and the change of objetives den Differential Psicology and the Psychodiagnostic of the intelligence at the beginning of the XX century. -Binet point of view about Scale Diagnosis and their contribution to Psychology and Psycometric. -The Mitification of the Binet-Simon Intelligence Scale and the condicioning factors of Differential Psycology and Psychodiagnosis during the first half of the XX century. García Yagüe supports his analysis with a wide bibliography, including several publications on the subject written by himself and with a large reproduction o Binet´s own texts that confirm the proposed thesis. These Binet texts have been translated from their original publications by Garcia Yagüe who would like to present them here with respect and as homage to Alfred Binet in the centenary of his death.
