Analysis of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT) Approach: a Step Further Towards Norm-Centered and Monotheism Psychology
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the position of " acceptance and commitment approach” that is based on Acceptance and Commitment in Various psychological approaches. In this study, first we introduce a criterion as "norm and it's functions" in existence, for outlining the boundaries of Mind map of monotheism psychology approaches against Non-monotheistic psychology. The research method in this paper was descriptive - analytical approach that is based on sources and relevant literature on the subject. The results and findings of this study show ACT, which was founded about 1999 in America with the introduction of “values and commitment to the values” in the foundations and structure of this thought, that the philosophical thinking purely mechanical - materialistic and biological- that gives prevailing view in philosophy and epistemology of psychological approaches in the contemporary world- is a step forward towards monotheistic and based on norm psychology. Among the other findings of this research was that the lack of familiarity, scrutiny and introducing a reliable "criteria" in the Philosophical epistemological foundations of Psychological approach, leading to confusion in the theoretical debate and thereby we lose the Ability to monitor a variety of approaches in this area close to or away from each other.
